Harris elected to CFU Board, Derrick returned as President

BFA President Randy Harris is congratulated by reelected CFU President Gordon Derrick.

BFA President Randy Harris was yesterday given a big boost regionally when he was elected to serve an Executive Member of the Board of the Caribbean Football Union at the 39th Ordinary Congress held in Miami. Harris was one of four new members elected when elections for the posts of President, 1st, 2nd , 3rd and 4th Vice President along with four other Executive Members were up for grabs.

Cuba crush Tridents 5-0

Barbados suffered a setback yesterday in their quest for a place in the finals of the CFU U17 Caribbean Cup when they were beaten by Cuba 5-0. Playing in the opening game of the evening at Warner Park in St. Kitts, the Bajans conceded very early in the game. Carlos Ibarra scored in the second minute follow by a Ronaldo Rosette goal in the ninth minute. At the half the score was 2-0.

The Barbados U17 Boys National team flew out this morning to take part in the first round of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) U17 Caribbean Cup competition. The boys are in Group 1 which is being hosted by St. Kitts and, in addition to the host country will contest Cuba and Dominica.

The BFA bade farewell and a big thank you to two foreign coaches who were in Barbados for two weeks attached to the BFA’s elite camps. Eighteen coaches awarded first ever CONCACAF C-License.
