The freshest faces in the Barbados Football Association Premier League this year belong to Porey Spring. The top-tier debutantes secured themselves a spot after finishing second in Division 1 last year alongside champions Empire Club and playoff winners Silver Sands.
Already showing that they were worth their berth with a solid start in the Williams Equipment Preseason Cup, the St. Thomas-based side will be looking to make a lasting impression on the top flight. Team Manager Chadain Greaves said that his squad was ready to take on the new assignment. “We are excited about it and looking forward to the challenge and learning from it all. Right now training is going well so we feel good and can't wait to start.”
Going on to say that fans could expect good football and a hard fight from his team as they sought a top-five finish, Greaves said that the season that gained them promotion was no easy one. “It was a rough journey. We had to do a lot of fighting on the pitch, a lot of determination, a lot of hard work. We had a few games where we had players out because of injury and work had a lot of people caught up as well. We were rotating 16 players all the time so it was hard. Men played with injuries from the start to the end so it all paid off in the end.”
