After several weeks of exciting clashes, the Guardian Group Youth Tournament has gone into overdrive as teams will be looking to secure spots as the playoffs continue on Saturday. With most of the divisions down to the semifinals, several teams will be given their walking papers from the competition.
With the finals already decided in the SOS Under-9s and slated to be played next weekend, the third-place game is set for 9:00 AM at the Wildey Turf. Long-time rivals, Pro Shottas and Kick Start Hot Shots were knocked out in last weekend's semifinals and will be fighting for third on Saturday.
In the Rejuvenator Under-11, it is down to the final four and Pro Shottas United and Kick Start will be meeting up again in the first game at Barclays at 8:30 AM. The other berth in the final will be taken up by either Fitts Village West Coast or Pinelands. Following those two games, the losers will square off in the third-place game.
Similar to the Under-9s, the finals in the Liberator Under-13 are also set in stone. With Fitts Village West Coast and Pro Shottas United being forced to bow out last week, they will be going head-to-head in the third-place playoff at the Wildey Turf at 10:00 AM.
Over at Parkinson Field, Mavericks and Cosmos kick things off in the Praesidia Under-15 at 9:00 AM. They have the first of the semifinals, while Pinelands Youth Academy and Pro Shottas have a date at 10:30 AM.
The IPI Under-17s are at the quarterfinal stage and three games are slated for Blenheim. At 8:30 AM, Paradise and Pinelands face off while Pro Shottas and Barbados Soccer Academy Warriors, and Wildey Sports Academy and Kick Start follow at 10:30 AM. The other quarterfinal is set to be played at the Wildey Turf at 4:00 PM between Mavericks and Fitts Village West Coast.
