Fly High Rudy

Category: | 1 Reply

Former Barbados national midfielder Sheridan Rudy Grosvenor passed away this evening following a battle with cancer.

The 43-year-old played for many years with Clayton’s Kola Tonic Notre Dame and Waterford Compton, where he also coached.

He had 14 caps with the senior Bajan Tridents and was part of the 2011 squad in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, scoring his lone national goal against Bermuda, where the Tridents finished 2-1.

President Randy Harris, the Executive Board, management, and the staff of the BFA extend condolences to Grosvenor’s family, and by extension his work family at the Barbados Water Authority at this time.

May he rest in peace and rise in glory.

KEVIN MILLARD -

On our way back from an excellent win today against Zaragoza when I heard this sad news. I am so sorry that another fine ex footballer has gone way too soon. An unsung hero really for both Notre Dame and the National team I do hope the football fraternity in Barbados will see that life is so very precious and every effort must be made to pack as much into your lives as possible. Support one another and compete hard on the field but be courteous and polite off it. That is how I will remember Rudy. RIP sir.
