The 2018 Domestic Season is upon us and all is in high gear at the Barbados Football Association. With things set to kick off on January 14th, the Premier League is not slated to get started until early March. However, the players in the top tier will get chance to stretch their legs in the 2018 Premier League Preseason tournament which runs for six weeks from January 21st.
With the 12 sides in the top flight divided into three zones of four, teams will play through their zones to amass points before the top-three and the best second-place finisher move on to the semifinals. At the semifinal round, there will be a double knockout as teams play their opponent twice. Everything will come to a head on February 25th when the last two standing will lock horns in the final.
Going after a $4000 top prize, Zone 1 comprises Rendezvous, UWI Blackbirds, Brittons Hill and Silver Sands, Zone 2 is home to Weymouth Wales, Paradise, Ellerton and Porey Spring, while the BDF Sports Programme, Notre Dame, Waterford Compton and Empire make up Zone 3.
