Become a Referee


The Barbados Football Association is about to begin it latest referee recruitment drive as we continually strive to take the sport forward. With our next batch of referees set to undergo initial training for six weeks between March and April, we are looking for suitable candidates.

Men and women between the ages of 18 and 35 with an interest in football and officiating are welcome to apply at the BFA headquarters in Wildey or on the website www.barbadosfa.com as opportunities to travel the world await you.

Course of study includes Laws of the Game, video analysis, fitness training, practical referee exercises and group sessions and will be delivered by Member Association Referees Assistance Programme Instructors Trevor Taylor, Barney Callender, Sherlock Wall and FIFA International Referee Gillian Martindale.

The programme will run for two days a week and a minimum of two CXC passes is necessary – one must be English Language. A special invitation is extended to school teachers, members of the armed forces, prison officers, tertiary level students and past players.

Dates are March 12th to April 9th.
